Happy New Year

We spent New Years Eve day splitting wood, with some help from one of our friends, and teaching his nephew, who hails from the coast of Oregon, how to shoot a pistol.

It hit ten below last night— far too cold to go outside and light fireworks— so we were happy to have the extra wood.  As midnight approached, my wife and I reflected not just on what a difficult year it's been, but on how much we have to be grateful for: we paid off our mortgage this year, we're better prepared then ever before for whatever the future may bring, it appears we've both got our health back, and most of all, we have each other.

We hope this new year will be an improvement over the last.  But whatever it brings, its successes and its challenges, may we all find blessings to be grateful for.

    Happy New Year, DJ!

I look forward to reading more about your quest for a life that makes sense and fulfills. A life of a human being.

Be well, and good luck with it all.
