McCain Endorsed in Nashua and Portsmouth

"[I]f we're going to get the high ground in this world and we're going to be the America that we have cherished and loved for more than 200 years, we're not going to torture people." —John McCain

So quoted the Nashua Telegraph, the only daily newspaper in New Hampshire's second-largest city, in its enthusiastic endorsement of McCain for GOP candidate for President. McCain now has endorsements of major newspapers in both of New Hampshire's largest cities.  Seacoast News, with papers in Portsmouth, Hampton, Roskingham, and Exeter, endorsed McCain earlier this month, giving McCain support from all the state's major print media.  (Seacoast also endorsed Obama.)

Romney, in contrast, received only an
anti-endorsement from the daily paper in the state capitol.  According to the Manchester Union Leader, Romney "has not received a single newspaper endorsement in New Hampshire."

It's tough to say how much media endorsements mean:  Romney still leads McCain in the NH polls— and New Hampshire voters are notoriously independent-minded.
